Beige Shoes: Your Guide to Finding the Ideal Match

A shoe that comes in versatile, neutral tones—a staple that will pair well with some of your favorite outfits.

Beige, nude, skin tone, tan, soft brown—the color goes by many names but its appeal stays the same. Some people may see beige as a boring color and avoid it, preferring more colorful shoes. But that is far from the truth.

Beige shoes have a unique ability to elevate almost any outfit and make you look more sophisticated, elegant, and effortlessly stylish.

In short, beige is a versatile and universally flattering color. On your shoes, it can easily complete any outfit and tie your ensemble together. Beige shoes are a staple in any person’s wardrobe—regardless of gender, age, or style preferences.

Elevate Your Style with Versatile Shades and Styles

As a neutral shade, beige shoes can easily look good in nearly any color. Beige has elements of both cool and warm tones. It retains the crisp coolness of white while having the warmth of brown.

This means you won’t have to overthink how to match a pair of beige tennis shoes you have your eyes on. There’s no problem having a couple or three pairs either.

It’s a good idea to have beige shoes in different styles to accommodate a wider style range and occasions. A pair of beige running shoes, beige sandals, and beige boots would complement your entire wardrobe—from athletic and casual wear to business and formal wear.

Perhaps the main consideration when buying beige shoes is the shade you choose. If you’re investing in multiple pairs of beige color tennis shoes, it’s best to have one in a lighter tone and the other in a darker tone.

It’s also advisable to have a pair of plain, all-beige color shoes and a pair of either beige and white or beige and black shoes. This allows you to further maximize mixing and matching your outfits for different occasions.

Pair Your Beige Footwear

Wondering how to style your beige shoes? Our KURU GURUs outline the best ways to wear them below.

Beige shoes are highly popular in both men’s and women’s footwear. This is because you can essentially wear beige shoes with anything. Beige shoes are popularly paired with pastels and neutrals or nude shades, but they also pair well with dark colors, vibrant hues, and colorful patterns.

As versatile as beige color shoes may be, there are still many people that prefer to stick to safer styles. Here are a few tips to help you venture out of your comfort zone and style your beige shoes.

Shades of beige and colors they pair well with:

The term beige encompasses a variety of shades, starting from pale nudes up to soft tans or browns. Although beige, in general, looks good with most colors, there are different shades of beige that look best with certain colors.

A neutral beige complements medium pinks, purples, greens, and turquoises. It also goes well with browns, tans, and creams.

As for darker beige shades, particularly those nearer to tan, these would go perfectly with any mid-tone color and light or medium neutrals.

Styling tips for men

Formal suit and trouser colors that pair best with beige shoes are blue, red, white, olive, tan, and light gray.

Denim jeans look amazing with beige tennis shoes. Dark or light wash jeans pair well with beige slip-on shoes for a casual outfit. These can also work as business casual attire when paired with a dark collared shirt and a tan suit jacket or coat.

Trousers and shoes in the same shade of beige or brown trousers with brown shoes are generally frowned upon, especially in traditional or formal settings. However, the younger crowd and modern tastes are more accepting, so plan your outfit according to the event and the people you will be interacting with.

If you plan to wear beige trousers and shoes, it’s a good idea to have your beige color shoes in a different shade. This adds contrast and variety to your look. A good all-beige outfit idea for casual and office wear is beige and white shoes paired with pale beige chinos, a white shirt or button-down, and a tan jacket.

Styling tips for women

Beige shoes can be great footwear choice for formal and business occasions. You can simply go for an all-black or all-white look, whether it’s a one-piece dress, pantsuit, or blouse and skirt, and your trusty beige slip-on shoes or beige boots.

An all-beige ensemble also looks classy and is great for formal events. Just make sure to choose the right pieces and shades of beige. Create some contrast despite the monochrome look by choosing slightly different beige color shoes and choosing different fabrics.

Beige athletic shoes pair wonderfully with colorful prints and patterns, especially on pants. Wearing beige shoes with more daring colors like fuchsia, orange, or purple is also a great idea as it helps give balance.

For a casual gym outfit, you can wear beige athletic shoes with printed leggings and a gray shirt. Meanwhile, a beige and white slip-on, white cutoff pants, and a tan or printed blouse would be a great outfit for brunch with your friends or a grocery run.

    Shoe Care Tips

Follow these simple tips to keep your beige shoes looking their best for years to come.

    1. How you clean your beige shoes will mostly depend on what material is used to make them. Always check what fabric your shoe uppers are made of. Canvas, mesh, and leather beige shoes all have their washing and cleaning requirements.
    2. Some beige flat shoes may be safe to put in the washer, but doing so is generally discouraged. Always be sure to check the manufacturer or brand’s care instructions first.
    3. A mild soap solution and a soft old toothbrush or towels are generally safe for most fabric shoe uppers. This includes meshing beige tennis shoes and canvas shoes. We also recommend using a shoe cleaning gel.
    4. Beige shoes made of patent leather would only require a thorough wipe with a damp cloth or paper towels to remove dirt and stains.
    5. As for beige leather dress shoes, it’s essential to invest in a horsehair brush, natural or clear leather, natural or clear shoe polish, and leather conditioner. A clean cloth and saddle soap or a mild soap solution can be used on more stubborn stains.
    6. Regardless of the shoe style or material, it is important to always wipe away any dirt or mud off your shoes before storing them. Make sure you keep your shoes in a cool, dry environment that’s never direct light, both natural and artificial.

    The Color Psychology of Beige

Learn more about the meanings behind the colors we wear and how we can craft the perfect color palette to accomplish our goals.

Beige is the all-encompassing term used for a wide range of pale, neutral shades—including pale yellow-brown, soft neutral tan, and light brownish gray. The neutral beige color is a creamy hue that combines the coolness of white and the warmth of yellow and brown.

Regardless of differences in tone and shades, beige generally has a soothing and relaxing effect. When seen in a positive light, it is calming, warm, and trendy. On the opposite end, though, some people consider beige to be plain, boring, and basic.

The color beige is often used to represent the working world. This is because the first computers were mostly beige. The color is also often used for minimalist interior designs and fashion.

In color psychology, beige represents simplicity, serenity, tranquility, and unpretentiousness. It is typically used to show plainness. Beige is also used to denote comfort and modernism. People who like or are drawn to beige are often those who prefer working on the sidelines or background. They are quiet, content, dependable, and adaptable.

    • Can I use custom orthotics with KURU shoes?

Due to the anatomical shape of the KURUSOLE, custom orthotics with a rounded heel fit best inside our shoes. If the underside of the custom orthotic (the part that sits on the footbed) is squared off, then it may not fit into our deep heel cup—which is rounded like your foot.

That said, many of our customers tell us the KURUSOLE technology offers better support and stability than they expected, and that they don’t need to wear their custom orthotics with KURU shoes.

    • How is the arch support of KURU shoes?

      KURU s

KURU shoes deliver excellent arch support without the need for thick inserts or expensive, custom orthotics.

Superior arch support starts with our patented KURUSOLE technology, which delivers natural cushioning and dynamically hugs your heel with every step. Every foot is unique, and our ULTIMATE INSOLES adapt to fit your needs by using your own body heat to custom-mold to the shape of your feet over time.

The corrective nature of our superior arch support is designed to neutralize your weight distribution and place your foot in the best anatomical position. This support can take some getting used to. We suggest slowly breaking in your new shoes over the course of 2–3 weeks.

    • I just received a pair of your shoes and my feet are sore/hurt after wearing them. Why is that?

Some customers experience tenderness when they first start wearing a new pair of KURUs. That’s ok! Your body may need time to adjust to the new levels of anatomical support you experience with our patented KURUSOLE technology. Our shoes are also designed to mold to your unique foot shape, which takes a bit of a break-in period.

To help mitigate this, we suggest you follow our break-in procedure, including wearing your KURUs for a couple hours per day around the house in the first couple of weeks as they break in and form to your foot.

Great boot comfortable. I just got through with a bunionectomy and was worried how I was going to go back to work..what shoes to wear as I pound the concrete for 8 plus hours a day. I bought these in black and tan and alternate them with my kuru tennis shoes ..and they feel good. Stylish and nice quality. This is my, I think, 8th pair of kurus.”

    Lonoshana

Kuru – The Only Brand I Wear. I just ordered a second pair of the Quantum Men’s Mesh in the Khaki/White/Black. I am a 70 year old man with chronic plantar fasciitis issues who has been wearing only Kurus for over 5 years. What a relief! My only complaint is the styles are a bit bold and edgy for my taste and age. However, with the new tan color in the Quantum style, I finally have a pair of comfortable shoes to wear with shorts and casual wear in the summer. I just swap out the black laces for tan and they are perfect! I ordered a second pair just in case this color isn’t available next year. Thank you!!!”

My favorite kuru. The Kivi is by far my favorite Kuru. This is my second pair of Kivi’s. They feel the best on my feet. I was wearing an old pair, holding out to open the new pair. As soon as I put on the new pair, I wondered why I waited so long. The new ones felt great on my feet. Please don’t stop making this shoe. I would love this in a brown. I love the color of my Chicane light beige. Try something like that in the Kivi!!”

    Milly

Great, right out of the box! Love, love, love these shoes! I put them on and went to work for 8+ hours. No break in period necessary. I have small fiber neuropathy, and need the right shoe, or I will be miserable. These are great! They are now my “go to” shoes. Please bring back the tan color ones. The brown that you have now is terrible—sent them back for the black.”

    Heidi N.

Very comfortable. This is my third pair of Kurus. I own the kivi and Kala. I believe this is my favorite. Very comfortable. The light beige and smoke blue is very pretty color combination. The question have is… Why do I have to pay more for a wide width shoe? Surely a size 6 wide uses less materials than a regular size 12. I would like to see more shoes in a dark brown. When paying high prices for shoes, it’s good to have one black pair and one brown pair to accommodate all outfits.”
