Cotton Shoes

Light and airy, made to keep your feet cool, comfortable and supported.

Cotton is a common material used in making all kinds of footwear, especially cotton canvas shoes, cotton tennis shoes, cotton slip-on shoes, and cotton boat shoes. Moreover, these no-fuss shoes don’t need constant care to keep them looking good.

KURU Footwear offers a huge range of cotton shoes for all kinds of events, activities, and preferences.

Cotton is a great material for making breathable shoes that allow air to penetrate our feet and keep them cool even during intense physical activity. You’ll find the perfect cotton shoes for you for working out at the gym, intense running sessions, and even for boating and sailing.

What are Cotton Shoes?

Cotton can be used to make a wide variety of shoes, which come in all kinds of shapes and designs. One of the biggest advantages of buying cotton fabric shoes is how low maintenance they are.

There are also cotton-padded shoes that are designed to be super comfortable, which makes cotton one of the most common materials you’ll see in shoes. You’ll usually encounter sneakers, tennis shoes, or canvas shoes, all of which will have cotton woven into them. Because they’re lightweight and versatile, cotton shoes also work well for people who wish to walk in comfort during their daily activities.

Cotton Shoe Care Tips

Keep your shoes clean and free of dust with these tips on cotton shoe care.

No matter what kind of shoes they are, cotton-based shoes will be easy to care for and maintain. Here are a few steps you can take to ensure they’re always clean.

1. Always clean your cotton shoes by hand using warm water, dishwashing detergent, paper towels, and an old toothbrush.

2. Start by wiping down your shoes using a dry paper towel and removing any loose soil.

3. Mix two cups of warm water with one teaspoon of dishwashing liquid inside a small bowl.

4. Working in sections, dip the toothbrush to get some of the soap solution and gently scrub on the cotton shoes.

5. Be sure not to over-wet your shoe and work with the grain of the fabric while moving throughout the shoe to prevent spotting and to keep a consistent color on your shoes.

6. Use paper towels and a bit of water to rinse your shoes and remove soapy residue.

7. Set the shoes aside and allow them to air dry in a shady area, away from direct sunlight and heat.

Don’t believe the so-called “hacks” you see online — tossing your cotton shoes in the washer is a bad idea. These wash cycles can be aggressive, where the tumbler combined with the impact of moving water can tear or warp your cotton shoes. It can also be tempting to throw your shoes in the dryer for a quick drying process, but the high heat of the machine can melt any rubber or plastic components of the shoes and can shrink or warp other parts, like the insoles.

FAQs

  • How do I clean white cotton shoes?

No matter what you do, don’t wash your cotton shoes in your washing machine. Instead, opt to hand wash them using warm water, dishwashing detergent, paper towels, and an old toothbrush. Be sure to take your time and work gently to keep your shoes as nice as possible.

Rushing through the process could lead to bleeding in different sections and may also lead to spotting. Don’t directly wet your shoes with water—instead, rinse your shoes using damp paper towels. You can then set them aside to dry away from direct sunlight.

Most comfortable sneaker. I bought the KURU ROAM in the navy color because I loved the classic look of them in the canvas. I immediately loved them so much that I ordered another pair in the yellow because I was afraid that by next summer they might not be available in that color. They are awesome in every way — comfortable, supportive, and were wear-ready for me with no break-in period — and are so cute!!! If you are looking for a classic sneakers that are kind to your feet, these are the ones.”

Can’t get enough. I bought my first pair when I had a mild case of plantar fasciitis. The problem cleared up, but I kept buying Kurus because they are so comfortable. This is my 4th pair of Qunatums and I tried their other styles too.”

Robert Leventer

Yellow and navy roams. Received the yellow & navy blue roams last week, have worn them both one time. Got lots of compliments. Love them!”
